CHARLESTOWN NURSERY SCHOOL

Charlestown Nursery School offers a preschool program 3 mornings a week, a toddler program 2 mornings a week and experiential playgroups for younger children (and their caregivers) 1 hour a week.

If you are interested in participating in any of these programs:

  1. Join the cooperative
  2. Apply or register for your desired program (see links at left)
  3. Submit a security deposit and signed contract (for preschool and toddler programs)
CCNS considers many factors in admitting students to the preschool and toddler programs, including application date, fit of the student with the program and cooperative participation of the family.  The school does not interview you or your child, although it offers information sessions and family visits are encouraged to see if it is a good match.  Spaces in the experiential playgroups are available on a first-come, first-served basis during the registration periods.  Families who are active in the cooperative before their children are preschool-aged can secure an available spot in a future preschool or toddler class by submitting a $500 tuition deposit.CCNS does not discriminate in providing services to children and their families or in its employment practices, on the basis of race, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs, sexual orientation, national origin, age, gender, marital status or disabilities.

Older Preschool (ages 3.9-5) $100 $7000/yr for 4 half days a week
Preschool (ages 2.9-3.9) $100 $6500/yr for 3 half days a week
Toddler (ages 2.0-2.9) $100 $6000/yr for 2 half days a week
Older Playgroup (2.0–2.8)  $100 $50/month for 1 session a week
Younger Playgroup (12-23 mos) $100 $50/month for 1 session a week

Our goal is to keep tuition costs reasonable and to eventually provide scholarships so that every interested family can join our high-quality programs.  However, a good education requires an investment.  We continue to seek outside funding to offset start-up costs and to mitigate the day-to-day expenses of running a school.
